It’s time to reveal TWG’s Book of the Month – June!!

Brand new month equals a brand new blog feature, can’t really complain at that eh? I know we are already a week into July, so I do apologise for my delay in revealing The Writing Garnet’s Book of the Month for June. Before I reveal the book, I will tell you why I chose it.

I also feel a tad sneaky doing this now as the book I am on about isn’t even released yet!

As I read the book in question, I laughed, I cried, and I snorted as I was giggling (sexy!). But, the one thing that stuck with me, was the fact it made me laugh. I don’t mean just any laugh. I don’t mean laughing at your child’s joke type of laugh, I mean, you HAVE to laugh at those jokes or you’re just mean. I don’t even mean the laugh while you watch the sitcom ‘Friends’. This particular laugh had me laughing so hard that tears rolled down my face, I looked like a seal, and I was squealing like a banshee. Oh, and my sides ached. You might be sitting there thinking that it isn’t a big deal or ‘so what, you laughed?’. I’m not taking the moment away from the author here, but I need to explain as there is a raw emotion behind what I’ve just said.

I struggle to laugh these days as I am very poorly. I will continue to stay poorly, nothing will fix me. I feel more pain than I do anything else. I had heard how funny this book was from the publicity manager before I read it, but I was on the fence because I struggle to find things funny like ‘normal’ people these days.
Reading this book made me find my laugh for a small moment in time. The author made me find something I struggled to reach myself. If an author can make that happen via a book then that is pure talent in my eyes. The whole book made me escape and that is another thing I struggle to do.

However, those are the deep reasons behind why I enjoyed the book. It has a special meaning.

I know, I know, I’m rambling a lot. It is with great pleasure that I FINALLY reveal to you TWG’s Book of the Month for June! Drumroll please…..
