‘It takes two babyyyyy, it takes two babyyyyyy, me and you, it takes two!’ because ‘tonight we’re lost and founddddddd’.
Two different songs brought together, with my AMAZING voice, both fitting with this blog post! Clever TWG! Oh….you want me to stop singing at you? Oh, but, but….oh fine! I’m reviewing Elle’s ‘Found’ book today (didn’t know it was ‘Lost’, but I’m sure I had ‘Kept’ it on the ‘B-side’, maybe not ;).
Blurb.
Who knew one flight could change everything? When Arielle Lockley stepped on the plane at Heathrow, she never realised how different her life would be when she touched down in New York City. Now she’s dealing with that aftermath, as well as trying to find common ground with Etta, her new and unexpected business partner.
But, trying to sort out business in London whilst her fiancĂ©, Piers, recovers from surgery in New York, is starting to take its toll on their relationship. Can Arielle and Etta work together to continue Felicity’s legacy without destroying it, and will Arielle and Piers even make it down the aisle to say “I do”?
Find out what happens in the final part of the warm and wonderful Arielle Lockley chick lit series.
What does TWG think?
Thank you to Elle for providing me with a copy of the book in return for my thoughts!
For those of you that don’t know, ‘Found’ is the third book in the ‘Arielle Lockley’ series. A little birdy (the author) told me that whilst it COULD be read as a standalone, it would be more beneficial to you to at least read the previous book in the series first – ‘Lost’. If you don’t, you could end up pretty confused. I did take Elle’s advice and read ‘Lost’ before ‘Found’, but because I was entering the series halfway through (my own fault), I had to sit on the fence and get to know the characters and familiarise myself with Elle’s writing before I could settle myself in the story.
Going into the last book in the series, Arielle still hasn’t managed to walk down the aisle and get married. There has been obstacle after obstacle and life wasn’t being kind. Unfortunately, Arielle and Piers have another obstacle in their way as Piers finds himself in hospital. Arielle can’t be in two places at once so she is either with her business in London, or with Piers in New York. When she is working, her mind isn’t fully on the task in hand, understandably.
I have never been to New York so it was a wonderful experience being transported there through Elle’s writing, so realistic. I must admit, some of the characters too me longer to warm up to than Arielle. I warmed to her straight away because her character comes across as though she is one of us. Not pretentious, just herself. That in itself is refreshing to see in a book.
Whilst I did spend a lot of my time sitting on the fence whilst reading this book, I was captured by Elle’s writing. She writes in such a special way, as though she is sitting in front of you and reading the story to you herself. I could definitely tell that the book was written from the heart.
Reading ‘Lost’ and ‘Found’, I noticed exactly how much Arielle had grown, she does carry a lot of weight on her shoulders in the last book, and I personally think that one of those weights is Piers! Sorry, I’m not his biggest fan, I just could not warm to him at all, he grated on me in the last book, and he grated on me in this book too.
Elle has written a story following the ups and downs of Ms Lockley. A story that not only takes Arielle on her own journey of self discovery, it will take you on the journey too. Such a fun 21st Century twist on Sex and the City. I am looking forward to see what Elle delivers next!
