#BlogTour! #Review – Chloe: Never Forget by Dan Laughey (@danlaughey) @RaRaResources

Many thanks to RaRaResources for inviting me to take part (and for the ARC) in the blog tour for the next installment of the ‘Carl Sant’ series, ‘Chloe: Never Forget’. Here is my review:

An off-duty detective gunned down. A dead woman. A student missing, feared dead. And now, aformer policeman in search of his past. All these people, dead or alive, have one thing in common. D.I. Carl Sant must discoverwhat it is.Aseries of cold-case enquiries leads D.I. Sant and his colleagues to investigate a botchedassassination plot dating back to the 1980s. The deeper they dig into the case, the more secrets arerevealed, including shocking connections to the infamous NationalFront.Meanwhile, the memory of former P.C.

Tanner, survivor ofthe assassination horror, is beginning torecover. Sant must find Tanner, and find out who is behind it all-before his superiors lose their rag and more lives are lost…

What does TWG think?

‘Chloe: Never Forget’ picks up where the author left off in ‘Chloe: Lost Girl’, so I highly recommend reading the books in order otherwise this book won’t make much sense.

Again, this is yet another dark and gritty read where we try to reach the truth behind Chloe’s disappearance and the various deaths. There is a lot of to-ing and fro-ing from D.I Carl Sant and his team, and cold cases are being brought back into the spotlight in case they end up being related to the new investigation.

I found that the storyline contained a lot of politics which, even though certain events in the book governed the topic, I felt that the subject went on a bit too long for my liking.

I enjoyed the intensity of the book and the not knowing whodunnit or the motives of various characters, even if I did end up finishing the book with more questions than when I started! The ending did confuse me, and I’m still not entirely sure who ended up being ‘the one’ so to speak. I can only hope that the author produces a third book in the series, I feel that there is a lot more to say!
