Next blog tour of the day is for Rebecca Raisin’s latest novel, ‘Rosie’s Travelling Teashop’. Many thanks to HQDigitalUK for the blog tour invite and ARC. Here is my review:
Rosie Lewis has her life together.
A swanky job as a Michelin-Starred Sous Chef, a loving husband and future children scheduled for exactly January 2021.
That’s until she comes home one day to find her husband’s pre-packed bag and a confession that he’s had an affair.
Heartbroken and devastated, Rosie drowns her sorrows in a glass (or three) of wine, only to discover the following morning that she has spontaneously invested in a bright pink campervan to facilitate her grand plans to travel the country.
Now, Rosie is about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, and the chance to change her life! With Poppy, her new-found travelling tea shop in tow, nothing could go wrong, could it…?
What does TWG think?
A book perfect for snuggling up with and forgetting the world? CHECK.
Oh what a snuggly, humorous, light-hearted read this is! Rosie’s life she once knew is now no more thanks to her husband dipping his fondue stick into another chefs fondue. With an uncertain future ahead of her, the world is now Rosie’s oyster and, along with help from her new pal, Poppy, Rosie can start believing that life won’t be too bad after all.
I really enjoyed following Rosie’s journey from Michelin starred to tea connoisseur. Watching her confidence grow as the storyline progressed was such a joy, even if i did find some of the storyline to be a little unnecessarily padded at times. Even though this story is a heartfelt and light read, there is theme covered throughout the book which has a more of a serious element to it. To be honest, I’m still not too sure on whether it fits in with the overall vibe of the book or whether it was needed, but that aside, the rest of the book was absolutely spot on. Rosie’s friendships with Aria and Max were brilliant and had me in hysterics. Such a wonderful balance of colourful characters – they were an absolute pleasure to get to know.
‘Rosie’s Travelling Teashop’ is the creme de la creme when it comes to confidence building and thought-provoking reads. If you’re stuck at the crossroads yourself, you might find yourself purchasing a pal like Poppy and embarking on a new journey.
A fun, touching novel which proves that true friendships really exist. Another belter from Rebecca Raisin.
